How Personal Training Sessions Work
This question come from my personal training client Claire in Epsom who asked me when she initially contacted me, how does personal training work.
So I am a mobile personal trainer. I can do fitness sessions in your home, garden or park. I don’t tend to use gyms anymore as I have a lot of fitness equipment so I can bring the gym to you. I have some personal training clients with home gyms to that I do sessions in, but you do have to have one of these as I have all the equipment we need.
How many personal training session you do depends on your budget and your motivation. Some clients I see 4 times a week and the only fitness they do is with me. Some do 2-3 sessions a week and another 1-2 workouts on their own in-between our sessions, and some do 1 sessions a week and another 3-4 workouts on their own during the week. I find some personal training clients need the more regular sessions to keep them on track and focused and other have the motivation but don’t know what to do so are happy for me to set them a programme for the week and meet me again next week.
Generally if you are looking to tone up and lose a bit of weight the aim of the personal training sessions is to keep improving on your fitness week on week. As you get fitter and fitter your metabolism will get faster and faster making it easier for you to lose some weight. I get new clients to do a food diary to start with and log everything they eat and drink, when we meet up I’ll go through it with them and point out the changes they need to make to get the best results.
This is the main fundamental purpose of personal training, they client tells me their goals, weight loss, muscle gain, fitness, 10k run what ever it may be, and I put a fitness routine together that gradually improves their fitness week on week to move them toward their goal.
This is what I explained to Claire in Epsom when she called me about starting some personal training sessions with me. Hope it helps you.
